Roil Recollection: Oil Kings History on October 27

The pattern on this day in the Oil Kings modern history suggests the Club will win the next two games. Cannot argue with "science" right? Let's recollect!

2007-08

All four goals in this game occured in the third period. Karey Pieper scored a powerplay goal to give the Oil Kings a 1-0 lead. Alex Archibald held the Oil Kings in the game as they were outshot 24-11 after two periods but was beat twice in the period. Archibald finished with 36 saves.

2010-11

Chilliwack lead 2-0 after one despite being outshot 12-6. Still down two entering the final period, the Oil Kings fired 20 shots trying to tie the game but fell short. Stephane Legault tallied the lone goal.

2012-13

Three third period goals gave the Oil Kings a 5-3 come-from-behind victory over the Kelowna Rockets. Henrik Samuelsson had a pair of assists and T.J. Foster had a hat-trick of assists. Laurent Brossoit with 24 saves in the win.

2018-19

Twenty-two (22!) first period shots by the Oil Kings! Quinn Benjafield, who scored the games first two goals, took the only shot in the opening frame that found the back of the net. Both Benjafield's goals were assisted by Trey-Fix Wolansky, one on the powerplay and one shorthanded. Dylan Myskiw collected 23 saves in the victory.

2022-23

Vancouver had seven powerplay opportunities, the Giants scored their only two goals off the game on the them. Edmonton's powerplay was blanked on five attempts. The lone Oil Kings goal was scored by Vojtech Port. Alex Worthington made 37 saves in the loss.

2023-24

The Oil Kings lead 4-0 after the first period, outshooting the Medicine Hat Tigers in barn 20-10. Medicine Hat went on to score seven unanswered goals. Oil Kings rookies Adam Jecho and Blake Fiddler were among the goal scorers.
