The Oil Kings do not have the best record on this calendar date. Although their one win was a doozy of a win! It has been eight years since the team last played on this date. Let's recollect!
2007-08
This day carries the dubious distinction of being the first time in the Oil Kings modern history that they were shut out at home. Alex Archibald faced twice as many shots as is Hurricanes counterpart and finished with 27 saves. A shining light on this day was the penalty kill that killed off all eight penalties.
2009-10

Torrie Jung stopped all 31 shots he faced as the Oil Kings shut out the Medicine Hat Tigers. Brent Raedeke scored two goals on the evening and was the only multi point player on a night the Club scored five goals scored.
2011-12
The home opener for the Oil Kings doubled as the Club's first loss of the season. Medicine Hat built up a 5-goal lead before Martin Gernat and T.J. Foster scored on back-to-back powerplays midway through the third period to break up the shutout bid. Curtis Lazar added another goal to help make the score look more respectable. Laurent Brossoit made 21 saves in the loss.
2014-15
Down 2-0 after one period, the Oil Kings fired 19 shots in the middle frame to try to get back into the game. Brett Pollock briefly cut the lead to one in the second as did Tyler Robertson in the third. The comeback fell short on this Tuesday night. Tristan Jarry made 25 saves in the loss.
2016-17
Branden Klatt's powerplay goal tied the game at one. Lane Bauer's shorthanded goal tied the game at three. The next three goals were scored by the Pats making this a pointless trip to Regina. Patrick Dea deserves a pat on the back for his 36 saves despite the loss.
2017-18
A Colton Kehler powerplay goal staked the Oil Kings to a 1-0 lead in Lethbridge. That was the highlight of the night in a game that featured a combined six shots in the third period. Boston Bilous made 19 saves in the losing effort.
