The modern day Oil Kings have two wins and two losses on this day in their history. Each game has been against a different opponent with one of the losses against the accursed team. Hat-tricks receive so much attention when it is goals but a couple of Oil Kings had assist hat-tricks. Let's recollect.
2009-10
The accursed Calgary Hitmen scored on five of their six powerplay oppurtunities. The result of the game is what you would think after reading that statement. Tomas Vincour and Brett Breitkreuz scored the Oil Kings tallies.
2013-14

A two fight night in Moose Jaw had three unanswered goals by the Oil Kings for the win. Curtis Lazar and Mitchell Moroz were your fighters, we will presume they won. While penalty minutes are tracked, fight totals are not their own column - - have you ever wondered who got in the most fights while wearing the crown emblem? There is no easy way to know.
Aaron Irving and Edgars Kulda were your goal scorers when the Warriors net was manned. Riley Kieser scored into an empty net. That is another stat that would be interesting if the league kept a tally of - -empty net goals. Who do you think leads the Oil Kings in empty netters?
2021-22

The Oil Kings led 3-1 after two periods outshooting the Medicine Hat Tigers 28-10. Carson Latimer's second of the game made it 4-1 then things got dicey. Kolby Hay finished with 18 saves and Edmonton held on to win 5-4. Jaylen Lupen and Carter Souch each had a hat-trick of assists.
2022-23
Four second period goals by the Saskatoon Blades were more than enough to win the game. The nifty part about the sole Oil Kings goal is that it stands as the only WHL goal Ben Wright scored in his 60 game career.
