Recently in the Facebook group "Oil Kings Central" the question was asked, who is your second least favourite opponent. The answer was the Medicine Hat Tigers who visit today at 2PM. The main nemesis on this day in Oil Kings modern day history though has been the Everett Silvertips. Let's recollect!
2007-08

Thursday night in Swift Current neeeded a shootout and a getaway car as the Oil Kings stole a victory! Robin Figren and Brent Raedeke staked Edmonton to a 2-0 lead in the opening period. Cameron Cepak tied the game in the final period. "First star" should have been Oil Kings netminder Alex Archibald who made 6 of his 34 saves in overtime!
2008-09

Craig McCallum 2 Everett Silvertips 1. Torrie Jung chipped in 30 saves to help the Oil Kings win 3-1.
2009-10
The Silvertips avenged their loss a year earlier with a 2-1 victory over the Oil Kings in a shootout. Michael St. Croix scored the lone Edmonton goal whilst Cam Lanigan collected 38 saves.
2014-15
Oh look, Everett again! The Silvertips won 3-0 and have now taken a 2-1 lead in games played on this date. Tristan Jarry with a 28 save effort.
2015-16
The Spokane Chiefs visited Edmonton and introduced Kailer Yamamoto to Edmonton fans. The now former Edmonton Oiler potted two third period goals to sink the Oil Kings. Patrick Dea finished with 25 saves in the loss.
2019-20

Josh Williams scored twice and Scott Atkinson scored the game winner sending Oil Kings fans happy. Sebastian Cossa with 26 saves in the victory.
2024-25

In the sixth round of the shootout, Cole Miller won the game for the Oil Kings. Miroslav Holinka potted a pair of goals while Gracyn Sawchyn and Roan Woodard each added a pair of assists. Alex Worthington finished with 26 official saves in net.
