Edmonton Sports Update: Hello December

If this is published before the end of the Elks' online auction, I hope you get the jersey or helmet you bid on. Once the auction is done, the question becomes:
What's the plan for the weekend that doesn't include watching television or spending hundreds of dollars?

The annual Oil Kings Teddy Bear is tonight (December 1st). The Oil Kings will draw a near Northlands Coliseum sellout (17K). Fans of the Oil Kings will throw just about that many bears onto the ice. It's a wonderful spectacle!

Our AJHL teams are both on the road. The Spruce Grove Saints who just played a neutral site game in Nisku (in an arena their ownership built) travel to Brooks for a championship re-match. Did any of our faithful happen to venture out this past Tuesday to check out the Silent Ice Center?

Canada's 11th ranked junior team the Sherwood Park Crusaders visit Lloydminster, Blackfalds and Camrose before returning home on Friday December 8th.

With it being December, every team is hoping you chose to spend some holiday money spreading their good news. Karter from the Elks office tweets out:

The Edmonton Stingers Basketball Club, who sold out their slice of the Edmonton Expo Centre a handful of times last season, share the following offer:

"For a limited time grab your Family 4-Pack and enjoy our Holiday Special with your own Stingers scarf and basketball."

The returning Edmonton Prospects Baseball Club of the WCBL have promoted their merchandise link. They missed last season as construction delays for Myshak Park in Spruce Grove will see the Club start the 2024 in Sherwood Park.

The Edmonton Riverhawks Baseball Club of the WCL have their flex packs already on sale. The Riverhawks set a league record in single season attendance last season.

Edmonton really is more than just an Oilers town. Be a part of it!!
