We've eclipsed the 100th day of 2024 and we've only partially started the fun on the Edmonton Sports scene. Now let's point out some non-NHL happenings in the Capital City and suburbs.
BCHL PLAYOFFS
The Spruce Grove Saints are in an unfamiliar position of being the road team in the first round of the playoffs. They will play a best of 5 series against the Okotoks Oilers with the winner going to Brooks. No one wants to go Brooks. That's not on a knock on the town, it's a compliment to the hockey team. Here's the wildcard series schedule:
Game 1: April 10 – Spruce Grove at Okotoks – 7 p.m.
MTGame 2: April 11 – Okotoks at Spruce Grove – 7 p.m.
Game 3: April 13 – Spruce Grove at Okotoks – 7 p.m.

Sherwood Park Crusaders
The Crusaders finished comfortably in 2nd place earning them home ice in a 7-game series vs Blackfalds. Here's that schedule:

Edmonton Stingers news galore
The Stingers welcomed Manjit Minhas and Ravinder Minhas to their ownership group. The brother and sister join Managing Partners James Burns and Tank Vander with the Stinger Entertainment Group in operating the Club.
An inaugural Edmonton Stingers roster player, Adika Peter-McNeilly has been named NAIT Ooks Men’s Basketball Head Coach. Peter-McNeilly will play out the 2024 CEBL season then join the Ooks for their 2024-25 campaign.

Double E upcoming milestones
June 22nd in Toronto, the Double E franchise could collect their 300th road victory. In theory, the franchise could have win number 700 under their belt before Canada Day. Would be nice if home victory number 400 happened before Labor Day.
