With the UFL Conference Championship games a couple weeks away, the league released the design of the official United Football League Championship trophy, which will be awarded to the winner of the UFL Championship game being held on June 16, 2024, at the Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, MO. This will conclude the 43-game inaugural season of the UFL, which was formed when the USFL merged with the XFL this past fall. The merger seamed to be a success on all fronts, with increased number of ticket sales, merchandise sales, and broadcast viewership from previous seasons of the individual leagues.
The UFL Championship trophy is being manufactured out of cast aluminum by Society Awards out of Charlotte, NC, who notably created awards such as “The Moonman” from the MTV Video Music Awards, the MTV Movie Awards, Billboard Music Awards, “The Voice” trophy, and much more. The trophy features two pillars, representing the two merged leagues, protruding from a round base embossed with the UFL logo and “Champions” below. The two pillars expand upward 17” to form a 14.2” outline of the UFL logo, which is symbolic of the two leagues coming together to form the single United Football League. President and CEO, Russ Brandon said, “This magnificent trophy represents not only the hard work and sacrifices made throughout the season but also the spirit of the game itself. It will serve as a beacon of inspiration for our players, reflecting their passion for football and their relentless pursuit to prove to themselves and the world that they can be champions. The trophy stands as a testament to the commitment, unity, and resilience that define our league, motivating every player to strive for greatness and achieve their dreams.”
The USFL Championship will feature the, currently 6-2, Michigan Panthers heading into Protective Stadium for a back-to-back matchup against the defending USFL Champion, Birmingham Stallions. While the Stallions have not technically clinched the home-field advantage, scheduling conflicts resulted in forcing the game to be played in Birmingham. The XFL Conference Championship will consist of two 6-2 teams, the San Antonio Brahmas and the St. Louis Battlehawks. St. Louis, who’s losses are only to the two teams in the USFL Conference Championship can clinch home-field with a win this weekend. The USFL Championship will be on June 8, at 2 PM CDT, broadcast on ABC, while the XFL Conference Championship will be on June 9, at 6PM CDT, broadcast on FOX. The winners of the two championship games will travel to St. Louis, MO, to face one another in the UFL Championship game on June 16, at 4PM CDT, broadcast on FOX.
