673 days later, Edmonton Prospects home opener

The Edmonton Prospects are 8 games in their 2024 season. Technically the Club played as the home team on May 31st but it was in Sylvan Lake. Tonight at  Sherwood Park's Centennial Park -Diamond #9, the Prospects play their first home game at home since returning to the Western Canadian Baseball League after a year hiatus.

Starting from scratch with the roster, the season has had many learning moments. Team leaders entering tonight:

  • Home Runs: Jordan Singleton (2)
  • RBI: Singleton, Jonluke Hobdy (4)
  • Doubles: Daniel Monti (3)
  • Stolen Bases: Singleton, Xander Hernandez (3)
  • Strikeouts by Pitcher: Eli Smock (10)

Tonight begins a 3 games in 4 days home stretch for the Prospects. Centennial Park - Diamond #9 is the temporary venue while the new stadium in Spruce Grove is being built.
