Where the Wild Things Were- Celebrating Chaos’s Birthday

It wouldn’t be a true Havoc game night without a little Chaos. Known for wholesome playful fan interactions Chaos is as much a part of the game night as the team themselves. Wild things gathered from near and far at Von Braun Friday night in celebration of the 22nd birthday of the Havoc’s beloved mascot, Chaos.

Kicking off the birthday celebration Chaos and his friends hosted his birthday party with the Huntsville Havoc kids club. Later, Chaos was spotted joining the Havoc during their warmup skate, shooting pucks, and stretching with the team.

“When it’s your birthday, you can do whatever you want.” stated one fan between laughs.

Between periods Chaos and his mascot friends took to center stage for a dance off. Chaos and Ruckus were joined by:

  • The Atlanta Braves Mascot “Blooper”
  • The Tennessee Titans Mascot “T-Rac”
  • The Atlanta Falcons Mascot “Freddie Falcon”
  • The Nashville Predators Mascot “Gnash”
  • The Savanna Banana Mascot “Split”
  • The Triple A- Nashville Sounds Mascot “Booster”
  • The Memphis Grizzlies Mascot “Grizz”
  • The Rocket City Trash Panda Mascot “Sprocket”
  • The Atlanta Hawks mascot “Harry the Hawk”
  • The Mascot of the University of Alabama Huntsville (UAH) “Charger”
  • The Nashville SC Mascot “Tempo the Coyote”
  • The HCFC Mascot “Marshall the Cosmic Goat”
  • The University of North Alabama (UNA) Mascots “Leo and Una”
  • The U.S Space and Rocket Center Mascot “Topps”
  • The Alabama A&M University (AAMU) Mascot “Bruiser”
  • The Rome Emperors Mascot “Julius the Emperor Penguin”
  • The Huntsville Utilities Mascot “Wattson”

With such a diverse and exciting line up the dance off had strong competition with each mascot bringing their own style to the ice. However, Ruckus prevailed, taking the dance off champion title from last year's winner "Grizz."

The birthday celebration was a perfect tension breaker for the tight, physical match between the Huntsville Havoc and the Peoria Rivermen on the ice. The Havoc struck first with Lincoln Erne (2) scoring in the first period, but the Rivermen had the answer. Early in the second period the Rivermen were able to bring the score to 1-1. Neither team provided much offensive space as the focus was strong defensive play and steady goaltending, keeping the game tied through the third period and overtime. The Rivermen were able to edge ahead in the shootout to secure the winning point. Despite the loss, the Havoc gained a valuable point and showed resilience against the league's leading team.
