The demise of TSN 1260 AM radio on June 14th marked the end of sports talk radio in Edmonton. In the two months that have followed many have wondered where they would get their sports talk fix when commuting to work or travelling on road trips. Jason Gregor of the Jason Gregor Show & Oilers Nation announced on social media today that there will be a new sports talk radio station coming to AM stations in Edmonton on September 5th at 7:00 AM: Sports 1440 AM.

Sports 1440 will be run by the Nation Network & Stingray according to Oilers Nation. The Oilers Nation announced that the radio station will start with The Kevin Karius Show at 7:00 AM on September 5th. The Edmonton Elks games are broadcast on 630 CHED in Edmonton but perhaps the creation of Sports 1440 will lead to more Elks & CFL football talk on Edmonton airwaves.
