This day in Oil Kings history featured a few games with some extraordinary shot totals. Also features a game that had more fights than goals (there were three goals). Let's recollect!
2008-09

The Oil Kings trailed the Red Deer Rebels 4-1 after two periods in front of their Rexall Place faithful. Edmonton outshot Red Deer 20-1 in the final period tying the game with goals from Brandon Lockerby, Shayne Neigum and Brent Raedeke.
55 shots on net for the Oil Kings but the game still required a shootout for the winning goal to be registered. Dalyn Flette made 23 saves in the victory.
2009-10

The Prince Albert Raiders fired 46 shots at Torrie Jung. The Oil Kings netminder deservedly earned "first star" of the game as he backstopped the Club to a 3-2 victory.
Tomas Vincour and Rhett Rachinski staked the Club to a 2-0 lead. With 4:21 remaining Brent Raedeke broke the tie to make sure his goalie did not have to see overtime.
2012-13

The first road game of this young season was perfect for Tristan Jarry as he stopped all 20 shots he faced from the Lethbridge Hurricanes. The "first star" of the game though went to the Hurricanes goaltender as he faced 60(!) shots and made 57 saves.
Your Oil Kings goal scorers on the evening were Curtis Lazar, T.J. Foster and Henrik Samuelsson. The game also featured five (5!) fights.
2014-15

First road game of the young season took the Club out to Swift Current and they came out firing. 17 opening period shots followed by 19 second period shots but only a 3-1 lead. Ben Carroll and Lane Bauer scored 1:57 apart midway through the third to make the scoreboard accurately reflect the shot clock. Tristan Jarry made 25 saves in the victory.

2015-16
Season opener on the road in the Red Deer started with a bang as Brett Pollock scored 40 seconds into the game. Unfortunately it was the only Oil Kings goal for the evening. Alec Dillon stopped 29 of 33 shots in the loss.
2018-19
The Medicine Hat Tigers took a 2-0 lead at the 6:43 mark of the second period silencing the 4,232 Wednesday night Rogers Place patrons. Brett Kemp scored back-to-back goals two minutes and two seconds apart to send the game into the third period tied at three.
