Here is to hoping the schedule makers know to never again schedule the modern day Oil Kings against Medicine Hat on this calendar date. The Club played games the first four seasons in a row then only played one more time on this day. The sole victory came against the Swift Current Bronos. Let's recollect!
2007-08
A zero-zero tie heading into overtime. Shots were 38-17 in favour of the Medicine Hat Tigers after regulation. It seems only fair that they won. Alex Archibald with 38 saves in the hard luckest of hard luck losses. In a game that only had a combined three powerplays, Brett Breitkreuz got into two fights.
2008-09

The Oil Kings first two goals of the game read the same, "Jeff Lee assisted by Brent Raedeke, Tomas Vincour". Brett Breitkreuz assisted on the Oil KIngs third and fourth goals. Vincour completed his hat-trick of assists on the teams 5th and final goal of the contest. Torrie Jung with 27 saves in the win.
2009-10
The second time in three years playing Medicine Hat on this date. At least this time the Oil King scored a goal. Josh Koper opened the scoring 33 seconds into the game. That's all we have to recollect about this game.
2010-11
Tied at three and tied at thirty shots a piece after 65 mintues of play, it took a shootout for the Kootenay Ice to earn the extra point against the Oil Kings. Josh Lazowski and Dylan Wruck each had a goal and an assist in the loss. Cam Lanigan finished with 27 saves.
2015-16
A 3-1 lead heading into the final period evaporated in a span of two minutes and four seconds. Two of the three Lethbridge Hurricanes goals in that span were on the powerplay.
