Oil Kings wrestling for 4 points this weekend

The hope was for 6 points on the 3-game Saskatchewan swing, the goal was 4. The goal was achieved with a solid team effort defeating the Regina Pats followed by a Gracyn Sawchyn-less drubbing off the Moose Jaw Warriors.

The Oil Kings will play for 4 points this weekend with two games at Rogers Place. Friday is a rematch against the Warriors featuring the epic promotion "Wrestling Night". Stars of Love Pro Wrestling (LPW) will entertain and amaze fans pre-game and during intermissions.

Arguably Moose Jaw's top player comes to town on Sunday as a member of the Lethbridge Hurricanes, and former member of Team Canada at the World Juniors, in Brayden Yager. The 'Canes, Calgary Hitmen and Medicine Hat Tigers all are a handful points or less ahead of the Oil Kings in the standings. This could be a potential playoffs first round preview.

Back-to-back losses dropped the Oil Kings down two spots in WHL power rankings released every Friday. Listening/watching to the Moose Jaw Warriors feed last Saturday their announcers marveled at the transition game of Oil Kings and the crispness of their passing game then openly asked how much better this team would be with Gracyn Sawchyn in the lineup.

For the big role Gracyn plays with Oil Kings, the Club is prepared to weather the storm of losing him. Czechians Miroslav Holinka and Adam Jecho, younger brother Lukas, with 20-goal scorer captain Gavin Hodnett and soon-to-be 20-goal scorer Roan Woodward provide a strong presence for the team. Cole Miller, Landon Hanson and Marshall Finnie (who will return Sunday from his 3-game suspension) provide quality depth with rookies Joe Iginla and Luke Powell both showing promise for a great future.
