Is it still Weiner Wednesday if the Oil Kings are on the road? As "confirmed" by the Oil Kings social media, a hot dog is a sandwich. Enjoy one (or two) while listening to the game on Iheartradio.
The 3 game road trip begins in Swift Current against a Broncos team 7 points behind Edmonton in the standings but with two games in hand. Then the trip gets difficult as the Oil Kings play back-to-back games against the two lowest ranked teams in the WHL. You see it all the time in sports, a team plays to the level of their competition. This is not David versus Goliath, this is a game where one shot can you have scrambling all night and eventually running out of time. 6 points or bust is overdramatic, but anything less than 4 points from the trip would be disappointing.

Every Friday the Western Hockey League (WHL) power rankings are released. Heading into this past weekend the Oil Kings had moved up from #14 to #8. Since the turn of the calendar to 2025, the Oil Kings have moved up in the Eastern Conference standings from 6th place to 5th place. The gutsy 5-4 victory over Prince Albert on Friday giving them a 4 point lead over the Raiders who have two games in hand.
