Friday Nights are for going out!

If you are not one of the 18,347 fans in attendance at Rogers Place, do not settle for staying at home and watching the game on television. No great story starts with, "I stayed home Friday and watched the game".

Here are three sporting options to get you out of the house this Friday and create some new memories.

Edmonton Elks Home Finale

The Edmonton Elks are more than just football. Arrive early, go to the tailgate. The Turf District is serving Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup. The Elks Herd are dishing up beef brisket on a bun. There are more options but those two are the authors favourite. If you feel inclined to leave them a tip for their service, you can. But if you are trying to save some later dollars from Commonwealth, please make sure to give any and all tailgate vendors a hearty thank you.

Yes it will be cool out, bring a blanket and get cozy with your buddies while watching the game. Yes the game is technically meaningless but seriously, game 8 of the NHL season is not of any more importance. Enjoy one last night at Commonwealth while wondering what the heck is going to happen during the offseason with the team.

Love Pro Wrestling Event

LPW and The Clandestine Wrestling Society partner to put a prequel show on Thursday night ahead of the Friday night card. If you have ever wanted to try a live wrestling show, this is the venue to do it. LPW performs out of The Rec Room South Edmonton Common which means before and after you can play some pretty darn nifty arcade games.

This card features some Alberta wrestling staples such as Michael Richard Blais and The Sheik Akbar. Wrestlers that have cemented themselves as stars such as Zoe Sager, Marz The Specialist, Pride, Lumberjack Larry, Rich King and T.Y. Jackson. Up and coming performers like Elliot Taylor and one of the best characters above the 49th parallel, Eli Surge.

Sherwood Park Crusaders

The Sherwood Park Crusaders will also be bringing the following special guests:

Folks, this is not just a game, it is an event. The Edmonton Cause Players with their cosplayers always add an element of fun to any event. Fans are asked to bring some new socks to the game to donate to Operation Friendship Senior Society for their #socktober fundraiser.

GO OUT AND HAVE SOME FUN THIS FRIDAY

Please sports fans, enjoy yourself responsibly. If you have to ask yourself if you are okay to drive, please call a taxi, uber or friend to get you home safely.
