Rider Nation, Rejoice!
For the first time since 2013, the Saskatchewan Roughriders hoisted Earl Grey's Cup after the pinnacle game of the CFL season, a 25-17 victory over the Montréal Alouettes to earn a 5th Grey Cup in 112 years. Despite playing in their rivals building, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers' Princess Auto Stadium, Riders fans flocked from all over, visiting "The Peg" to witness the historical Grey Cup match. Fans and media in attendance and on social media reacted as expected:
Fans of the Saskatchewan Roughriders have watched many years go by since their last Grey Cup victory, emotions taking over for the contingent of Green and White.
Unfortunately for fans of the Montréal Alouettes the game did not go the way they had hoped for, QB Davis Alexander nursing a hamstring injury throughout the entire game.
As host of this year's Grey Cup, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers weren't exactly thrilled with the final result:
Even if all CFL fans don't agree on team of choice, one thing is for certain: The Grey Cup is CFL's biggest party year-in, year-out, and fans are already looking forward to next year's edition of the Grey Cup, 2026 being hosted in Calgary, Alberta.
