15 days to go until some Edmonton Oil Kings hockey as they make the short trip down the QE2. Some fans will also make the trek while others will be streaming the game through Victory+. None of you will have to wonder who has worn the number 15 through the course of the modern day history version of this Club. Let's recollect!
2007-08 & 2008-09
Brenden Dowd donned the number 15 for the first two years of the Oil Kings return. 101 points was the total contribution from the co-captain. Dowd wore the C for home games.
2009-10
Cameron Maclise played one year in the WHL putting up 14 points in 64 games for the Oil Kings. Maclise played out his junior career in the AJHL posting much more impressive numbers with the Brooks Bandits (now of the BCHL).
2010-11 & 2011-12
The man from the Yukon David Stephens had his Oil Kings career cut short by concussions. After playing 30 games in his rookie season for the Oil Kings, Stephens suffered a concussion in training camp 2011. In his first game back from that concussion, he suffered another. Stephens did end playing 5 years for Mount Royal of Canada West (formally the Canada West Universities Athletic Association or CWUAA).
2013-14 through 2015-16

Listed as a rookie in 2013-14, Andrew Koep did not wear the number 15 jersey in a regular season game until 2014-15. Koep collected 63 points in his 130 regular season games plus 5 playoff points for the Oil Kings. The Koep Financial Group run out of Lloydminster, that's our former player.
2016-17 through 2020-21

Named the Oil Kings 13th captain in modern franchise history on September 20, 2019, Scott Atkinson played his five year major junior career for Edmonton. Atkinson's best statistical season was '18-19 when he posted 15 goals and 18 assists. Atkinson also won the Kristians Pelss Memorial Award for his hard work and dedication to all facets of the game on and off the ice.
2021-22 through 2024-25

Last season fans watched Cole Miller sport one of the best moustaches in the WHL. His aggressive nature on the penalty kill, which netted him three goals, made him a personal favourite. Miller made the most of final year in the WHL notching career highs in goals (18) and assists (15). Everyone wishes him the best at Canisius University.
