It took the modern day Oil Kings four tries before getting their first victory on this day in their history. Funny coincidience, each Oil King scorer in the third period of that win scored their fourth goal of the season. Let's recollect!
2011-12
The Pats scored, the Oil Kings tied the game. This repeated itself for each of the first three goals the Pats scored. Regina then scored three consecutive goals to defeat Edmonton 6-3. Laurent Brossoit finished with 30 saves and an assist.
2012-13
A Sunday field trip to Kootenay saw a total of one goal scored. It was not by an Oil King. Kootenay had eight (8) powerplay opportunites, all eight killed off successfully. Tristan Jarry with 21 saves in the hard luck loss.
2016-17
Tyler Robertson on the powerplay with 5:15 remaining to break the shutout bid by the Victoria Royals. Not sure how many of the Rogers Place were still in attendance as it was 6-0 when Robertson scored. Three of the goals against were on the powerplay. Both teams had 40+ shots in the game.
2017-18

Down 3-1 after two periods in Swift Current, the Oil Kings scored three in the final frame to earn the win. Brett Kemp scored with 19 seconds remaining to give the team that had a 35-22 advantage on the shot clock, the advantage on the score clock. Travis Child with 19 saves in the victory.
2022-23
Seattle scored four (4!) powerplay and two (2!) shorthanded goals. Edmonton scored no goals in the contest.. And it's the last we shall mention this game.
2024-25 Thanksgiving

Four players still with the Oil Kings, three of them drafted by NHL teams, scored all the goals needed to defeat Vancouver on Thanksgiving in Edmonton. Both Sawchyn brothers, Gracyn and Lukas, collected a pair of assists. Alex Worthington notched 27 saves in the victory.
