Nine games on this day in Oil Kings modern day history, a lot of "before they famous' NHL'ers passing through. Edmonton has three wins including one against the accursed Hitmen. Let's recollect!

2007-08

There was only one time in Oil Kings inaugural season that a team was able to score ten (10!) goals in a game. This was that game and it was Swift Current that put together the two handfuls of goals. Craig McCallum scored the lone Edmonton goal.

2009-10 Thanksgiving

Four of the goal scorers in this holiday edition of a WHL game went on to score goals in the NHL. Matt Calvert, Tomas Vincour, Brayden Schenn and Michael Ferland all lit the lamp but only Vincour played for Edmonton so the positive result of the game went to Brandon.

2011-12

Led by two goals off the stick of Curtis Lazar, the Oil Kings won 6-1 on this Wednesday night in Kootenay. Dylan Wruck collected a hat-trick of assists. Laurent Brossoit made 31 saves for the Club.

2012-13

The accursed Calgary Hitmen came into Edmonton and jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Powerplay goals by Curtis Lazar and T.J. Foster tied the game. A pair of Henrik Samuelsson goals, his second being the teams third powerplay goal of the night, gave the Oil Kings the lead. The game went into overtime that saw Edmonton register the only three shots. Calgary stole the win in the shootout.

2017-18

An unsuccessful Thursday night in Moose Jaw as future NHL'ers Noah Gregor and Tanner Jeannot had a hand in four goals against Edmonton's goaltender Travis Child. Colton Kehler and Kobe Mohr scored the goals for the Oil Kings.

2018-19

Everett has 24 shots in the second period. Edmonton had 20 shots for the entire game. Sometimes the shot clock is the opposite of the score clock but not on this night. Conner McDonald, Vince Loschiavo and Vladimir Alistrov scored for the Oil Kings in the losing effort.

2019-20

The accursed Calgary Hitmen jumped out a 2-0 lead once again on this date in history but this game had a happier ending. Carter Souch scored a hat-trick and the team went 4-for-6 on the powerplay to win 6-4! Todd Scott made 10 of his 19 saves in the third period.

2022-23

62 FREAKING SHOTS AGAINST! The team with 62 shots on net won by the score 6-2. It was Everett not Edmonton. Kolby Hay with 56 saves in the loss. Anaheim Ducks second round draft pick Olen Zellweger with a hat-trick.

2024-25

Gracyn Sawchyn, who just this past October 2nd was assigned to the Florida Panthers AHL team the Charlotte Checkers, opened the scoring against the Rebels in Edmonton. The Oil Kings collected a tidy 5-1 win with Alex Worthington finishing with 28 saves.
