Roil Recollection: Oil Kings History on November 10

The Oil Kings are in the early stages of their 18th season of their modern day history. One of this years players is turning 20 in Miroslav Holinka. The young Czechian is in his final season of WHL eligibilty and will be somewhere in the Toronto Maple Leafs organization next season. Let's recollect this day in Oil Kings history and see how many times they have had their cake and ate it too!

2007-08

The Oil Kings led this game for a grand total of 23 seconds before the Regina Pats tied the game sending it to overtime. Overtime solved nothing which led a shootout in which only Jordan Eberle scored. Dalyn Flette with 39 saves in the loss.

2010-11

A Tyson Barrie second period powerplay goal ended up being the game winner for the Kelowna Rockets. T.J. Foster scored the lone Oil Kings goal.

2012-13

Trailing 2-1 after one period, Dylan Wruck and Keegan Lowe scored second period goals which gave the Oil Kings a lead that was insurmountable on this night in Prince George. Michael St. Croix with a hat-trick of assists and Tristan Jarry 21 saves in the win.

2016-17

Anatolili Elizarov scored in the last minute of the first then Aaron Irving scored in the opening minute of the second period for the Oil Kings. Saskatoon fought back to tie but Trey Fix-Wolansky would pot the game winner midway through the third with Irving adding his second of the game into an empty net.

2017-18

A two goal lead fell into the ocean on this night in Victoria as the Royals came back to defeat the Oil Kings 3-2. The Oil Kings held the Royals to only 22 shots.

2018-19

Brett Kemp scored the game opening goal in the second period and the game winning goal in overtime for the Oil Kings over the Medicine Hat Tigers. Dylan Myskiw made 25 saves in the victory.

2021-22

Darn tootin your goaltender is first star of the game if he asked to make 41 saves! Sebastian Cossa willed his team to victory after the Oil Kings jumped out to 3-0 lead over the Prince Albert Raiders.

2023-24

Rilen Kovacevic scored the lone Oil Kings goal. The accursed Calgary Hitmen scored more than a handful of goals.
