The last 2 weeks for the Oil Kings prospects have seen lots of movement, as all 4 of the AJHL prospects have had an opportunity to be back with the Oil Kings at points in the beginning of November. We have American players looking like future stars, CSSHL players still finding their rhythm upon return from the WHL Cup, and a AAA defender who should be turning heads in southern Saskatchewan. We’re compiling a season long watch of our up and coming Oil Kings prospects, the “Roil Reserves” as it were, and keeping you in the loop of who to watch in the coming years. Whether they’re in the AJHL, CSSHL, or anywhere else that I can find information on them, we’ve got you covered.
AJHL
Matt Williams
Matt Williams was the first of the AJHL prospects to get the call up to the Oil Kings this month. He was called up on October 30th, he played in 3 games with 4 shots on goal, an even plus-minus, and won 12 of 23 faceoffs. Since being returned to the the Whitecourt Wolverines on November 6th, Williams has played in 2 games and recorded 2 additional assists. In the AJHL this season he is up to 3 points across 10 games, but appears to have come back to Whitecourt with some added incentive to earn another call back to Edmonton when the opportunity presents itself.

Jensen Marsh
Marsh put in 3 more games for the Drumheller Dragons before he was called up to the Oil Kings on November 5th. In those games he put up another goal and assist to bring his AJHL stats to 9 points through 14 games. Since returning to Edmonton, though, Marsh has made a statement and secured a pretty strong case to stay in the WHL. He has produced 3 points through 3 games, including his first career WHL goal, and brought his overall stats with Edmonton this season to 5 points through 5 games. Once players start getting healthy again, it could be a very difficult decision on whether Jensen has done enough to stay or if he loses his spot due more to a traffic jam of talent than anything he has done. Personally, I think Marsh may have seen the last of his time to the AJHL and put Oil Kings management in a position to consider a trade to find space for Marsh to stay with the team.
Tucker Tullikopf
Tucker Tullikopf received a one game call up for Edmonton on November 7th, to fill a spot in Medicine Hat due to the large number of injuries for the Oil Kings currently. He did not record any statistics on the game sheet, and was sent back to Camrose the next day. In 2 games with the Kodiaks over the last two weeks, Tullikopf followed the trend of Williams and Marsh, as he also recorded 2 points. This brings his AJHL stats to 18 points through 16 games. It was nice to see him get another chance with the Oil Kings, and he performed respectably with a responsible game overall and helped the Oil Kings extend their win streak. Perhaps another opportunity will come his way in the future, but for now he appears to have found a comfortable place in the AJHL.
Presley Kerner
Kerner was also called up, alongside Tullikopf, to fill a hold in that game against the Tigers on November 7th. Being a center, he did have a slightly larger impact than his counterpart, as he went 2 for 5 in the faceoff circle. He also had a relatively quiet game though, and didn't look out of place or present any weakness to a talented Tigers team. He returned back to the Olds Grizzlies, where he has played 4 games over this 2 week period and coincidentally also recorded 2 points. These were his first 2 points of the season for Olds, and he appears to be finding more of a role on that team finally. His return to Edmonton perhaps boosting some confidence on his trip back to the Grizzlies.
CSSHL

Holden Wouters
Wouters returned to St.George’s Prep on Halloween, and has played 4 games over the last 2 weeks. His return from the WHL Cup was quiet initially, but he picked it up this past weekend with 3 assists over the last 2 games. He is up to 5 points in 8 games in the CSSHL this season, and proven to be an important part of his team. St.George’s won for only the 2nd time this season (2-8-0 record) in the game where Wouters put up 2 assists, and Wouters has contributed points in both wins for his team. His role as a strong defender involves shutting down opposing threats, but it appears that his offensive efforts have an overall positive result for his team as well.
Christopher Kokkoris
Interestingly, Christopher Kokkoris has not yet returned to Yale Hockey Academy following his impressive showing at the WHL Cup. Yale has played 2 games over the past 2 weeks, but as junior hockey is typically pretty sensitive with this information, it is unknown what the reason for Kokkoris’s absence may be. The 6 foot 6 defender had a strong start to the CSSHL season, and certainly wouldn’t be held out of the lineup without a reason. Hopefully we’ll see him get into one or both games over the next couple weeks, as Yale will play only 2 more games before our next check-in.
Cole Landreville
The Oil Kings 2025 second-round pick continues to be the most intriguing to watch. While Wouters is quietly building his defensive game, and Kokkoris is M.I.A, Cole Landreville is putting up points in bunches for Pilot Mound Academy. In 2 games since returning from Team Manitoba, the 5’9 forward has added another goal and an assist to bring his overall to 14 points in 9 games played at the CSSHL U18 level this year. He is second on the team with a 1.56 Pts/Gm pace right now, and has only been held off the scoresheet once in those 9 games (a 4-0 shutout where all of Pilot Mound was held silent).
Matheas Hejda
Matheas Hejda may be in the best overall position among the CSSHL prospects, playing on a strong Northern Alberta Xtreme team (8-2-0), yet he remains quiet from a statistical perspective. After putting up points in each of his team’s first 4 games of the season, Hejda has been held without a point in 6 straight. He’s still at 4 points through 10 games, but has found other ways to stay relevant and involved with the team.
U18 AAA
Kayson Anderson
Kayson continues to be perhaps the most exciting prospect to follow this season, as he is maintaining an excellent pace at the AAA level with the Estevan Bears. He’s added 3 more games, and continues to be scoring at a point per game pace on the year as he is up to 16 points through 16 games so far. Only 2 goals still, but as a defense he is proving to be more adept at setting up his teammates for chances than finishing those chances himself. His Bears are now on a 4 game winning streak, 6-4 in their last 10 games, and have climbed themselves all the way up to 6th in the league. We’ve been monitoring his penalty concerns through the season, and he does appear to have gotten better at being responsible, yet had another slip up during the November 11th game when he took a 4 minute penalty for a check to the head.
Rail Schollar
Following the bounce-back shutout 2 weeks ago, Rail’s next action came in a relief appearance with his Calgary Northstars down 5-1, and he made 14 saves while his team came back to tie the game giving Rail the official tie decision. Interestingly, the AEHL U18 still allows tie finishes and doesn’t require a shootout to find a winner. His only other appearance of the past 2 weeks came in a 4-0 loss in which he stopped 20 of 24 shots. His Northstars peppered their opponents with 41 shots, but Schollar lost the goaltending duel. Overall he’s at a 3.45 GAA and .881 Sv% for this season, which is unfortunately among the lowest statistical performances of all qualifying goalies in that league.
U16 AAA
Ezekiel Kaebel
The incoming US Prospect class looks to be extremely exciting from an outside perspective. 2025 first-round pick Ezekiel Kaebel is leading the group with an exciting U16 season for the Dallas Stars Elite AAA team. Over the last 2 weeks, his team has played 9 more games in the Texas 16U league and Kaebel added 18 more points to bring himself to an impressive 30 points through 22 games. That’s a 3Pts/Game pace over that 2 week period, showing that he’s hitting his stride as this season goes along. Dallas didn’t play any T1EHL games during this stretch, so Kaebel remains at 8 points through 4 games against USA-level competition. Kaebel is tied for the team lead in points, as the Stars Elite rank 1st in Texas still and 4th among T1EHL competition.

Carter Nash
It was a relatively busy period for goaltending prospect Carter Nash. He put up another 6 games in the 15U League, and did not suffer a regulation loss. He went 3-0-2 in the past 2 weeks, and improved to a 2.25 GAA. He added 2 additional games in the MAHA U15, going 1-0-1 and increasing that GAA to 2.65. Overall, a great 2 weeks of action for the 15 year old and a solid showing of growth from the beginning of the season. His team, the Honeybacked Hockey Club, are 23-6-0 and currently rank as the #3 team in Michigan 16U, and 4th overall in USA 15U Tier 1.
Brock Stevenson
The final prospect playing AAA in the USA currently has been having himself another elite level season. Brock Stevenson has added 10 points in 13 games over the past 2 weeks, bringing himself to 39 points through 26 games. With 15 goals and 24 assists, Stevenson looks like he can be the playmaker or the finisher and has shown a well-rounded offense. The Okanagan Colorado team is still sitting in the same spots in the rankings, 1st in Colorado and 3rd in the USA 16U Tier 1. With a 21-4-1 record, Brock Stevenson and Co are having a very strong season.
